What a book and stationery shopper does right after ordering

People choose books slowly: they read the blurb and reviews. After paying, they feel good and already picture an evening with the new book. For school supplies and stationery the order is often urgent, and after paying they just want delivery to hurry up.

That's why gifts that continue reading and study work well: online courses, language learning, coffee, event tickets such as literary meetups. AI treats audio and e-books as a substitute for a paper book and hides them until you enable them yourself.

Sample math for a bookstore

Say a bookstore gets 600 paid orders a month. 30% of buyers pick a gift, which is 180 people. 5% of them complete the partner action (a language app sign-up or a course purchase): 9 people. The partner pays, for example, €8 per customer. That gives 9 × €8 = €72, and your 60% share is €43.20 a month. The numbers are illustrative, not a forecast.

Book orders are small, but there are many of them, and the audience likes to learn. The rate of a specific offer is shown in your dashboard, and the example uses a cautious figure.

Peaks come at the start of the school year and in the weeks before New Year. The example is for a regular month.

How to set up gifts in a bookstore

The main setting for a bookstore concerns e-books.

  • Decide whether to show audiobooks and e-books. If you sell paper books, AI hides them as a substitute. You can enable them: people who listen often buy paper copies too.
  • Keep online courses and language learning on: they are the best-fitting categories.
  • Add book chains and marketplaces that aren't in the categories to the blocklist.
  • For stationery, check “Software and tools”: note-taking and planning apps fit well.
  • After a month, compare clicks on learning versus leisure and keep the strong ones.

Books and stationery: questions

Why are audiobooks hidden if I don't sell them?

AI treats them as a replacement for a paper book. If you don't mind, enable the category manually: the decision is yours.

I sell children's books. What will show?

AI will account for the kids' segment and hide “Kids' goods and toys.” Photo printing, audiobooks (if you enable them) and video streaming fit well.

I sell textbooks. Don't online courses compete?

No. For textbooks, courses complement the purchase. Your competitors are other textbook sellers, and they're hidden.

I sell second-hand books. What changes?

The catalog is analyzed the same way. “Books and stationery” and e-books are hidden, and the rest are available.

A customer ordered a book as a gift. Who sees the block?

The person who paid. The recipient doesn't see the block, and nothing is put inside the parcel.

I sell niche editions. Will other bookstores show up?

No. The “Books and stationery” category is hidden whole, regardless of genre. You can close specific chains and shops with a domain blocklist.

What does it cost?

Nothing. The plugin is free and advertisers pay. Your store gets 60% of the partner payout for every qualifying customer action: a sign-up, subscription or purchase.

Will customers go to my competitors?

No. The AI analysis hides categories that overlap with your catalog: a shoe store will never show a shoe discount. You can also blocklist any domain.

What data do partners get?

No personal data. Your customer's name, email, address and phone number are never shared with ThanklyClub or with advertisers. Matching uses order product categories, order value range, country and language.
