Who buys gifts and what they need next
A buyer in a gift shop is thinking about someone else and an occasion. They've already decided what to give and now plan the rest of the evening: a table, tickets, a trip. An offer that helps mark the occasion fits right into their train of thought.
They try gifts on for themselves too: if a dinner or hotel is good for the recipient, it's good for them. Charity is a separate option: a donation can be made in the recipient's name. AI hides other stores' flowers, jewelry and decor.
Example calculation for a gift shop
Say that in an ordinary month the store gets 800 orders. 10% of buyers pick a gift (80 buyers), and 15% of those follow through (12 buyers), for example by ordering food, buying tickets or booking. The payout in this example is €10 per new customer.
12 buyers × €10 = €120, and your 60% is €72. Gift shops are uneven: before Christmas there can be several times more orders. If December brings 3,200 at the same rates, you'd get 3,200 × 10% × 15% × €10 × 60% = €288. The numbers are illustrative.
How to set up gifts in a gift shop
A gift shop has a peak in a narrow window, so set up the block in advance.
- Install the plugin a couple of weeks before the peak so you can check the settings.
- Keep food, tickets, travel and charity.
- Check that flowers, jewelry and decor are hidden.
- If you have many corporate orders, look at the block through the eyes of an employee placing a purchase and switch off the extras.
- After the peak, open the dashboard: what got clicks, what didn't.

Most of my orders come before Christmas. When should I install the plugin?
Earlier is better: you'll have time to check the selected categories and the blocklist before the peak, not in the middle of the season.
The gift is shipped directly to the recipient. Will they see the block?
No. Only the person who paid sees the block: on the thank-you page and in the order confirmation email.
I have corporate orders. Are gifts shown to them too?
Yes, to anyone who pays for an order on the site. If some categories don't suit corporate buyers, switch them off on the categories tab.
I sell handmade gift sets. Do I need to change anything?
No. AI treats handmade items as part of your catalog: souvenirs and decor stay hidden, and neutral categories keep working.
Can I offer the buyer a donation instead of one more gift?
Charity is a separate category in the block: the partner is a foundation or project. The block is seen by the person who paid, and the terms of each offer are on its card in the dashboard.
How do I avoid overwhelming a buyer who takes ten souvenirs for guests?
The block shows one to three gifts regardless of cart size, so there's no overload.
What does it cost?
Nothing. The plugin is free and advertisers pay. Your store gets 60% of the partner payout for every qualifying customer action: a sign-up, subscription or purchase.
Will customers go to my competitors?
No. The AI analysis hides categories that overlap with your catalog: a shoe store will never show a shoe discount. You can also blocklist any domain.
What data do partners get?
No personal data. Your customer's name, email, address and phone number are never shared with ThanklyClub or with advertisers. Matching uses order product categories, order value range, country and language.
