Charity on the thank-you page

Not every customer wants one more discount. An invitation to support a project, such as an animal shelter, the environment or education, suits stores with a values-driven audience.

Charity

What it means for the customer

The customer sees an offer from a charity: become a regular donor, follow a project or support a specific program.

When it's hidden. It does not compete with your store's products. Hide it if you already run your own charity program and don't want to confuse customers.

What the customer sees

The card looks calmer than the others: the organization's name, one line about the project and a "Support" button. There is no discount. It is an invitation to do something good, and the customer sees it the same way as other gifts on the thank-you page and in the order confirmation email.

After the click, the organization's page opens. The customer chooses an amount and frequency: a one-time payment or a regular donation. The payment goes through on the organization's side, so the store neither accepts money nor sees payment details.

Why charity works right after a purchase

A person has just spent money on themselves or loved ones, and the wish to "share" appears more often against that background. For buyers of pet food, kids' clothes, books and home goods, an invitation to help a shelter, a school or an environmental project looks like a continuation of care.

For the store, the category is also a signal of values: the audience sees that the brand does more than sell. It suits stores with their own stance or an eco agenda. If your audience looks only for deals, clicks will be rare.

What partners offer and how the store earns

The organization pays for a new regular donor or project follower, and the store gets 60% of the payout. The conversion is confirmed after 14–30 days, when it's clear that the first payment went through and wasn't reversed. Payout goes out via SEPA from €50.

Typical offers:

  • a regular donation to an animal shelter
  • a subscription to a nature protection project
  • support for an educational foundation for children
  • help for a patient care program
  • signup to a newsletter and a first small donation

Questions

How does the store earn from charity?

The same way as with other offers: if the organization pays for a new regular donor, the store gets 60% of the payout. Terms are stated in the offer.

Does this suit a pet store?

Yes, animal shelters are one of the closest offers in meaning for buyers of pet food and accessories.

Can a customer donate through my store?

No. The payment goes through the organization, and the store takes no money. You only get the partner's reward for a new donor.

Will charity put customers off?

It is a low-key offer among 1–3 gifts, and many customers share its values. It shows after payment, so it doesn't affect the sale. If there's no response, you can turn the category off.

Can I exclude a specific organization?

Yes, add its domain to the blacklist in the plugin settings.
