Cross-sell — Cross-sell
Cross-sell looks like this: a case with a phone, socks and insoles with sneakers, beans with an espresso machine. It works on the product page, in the cart and after payment.
A partner gift is similar to cross-sell in logic: it complements the purchase. The difference is that someone else's service does the complementing, and the store gets a share for a partner's new customer.
Example
For example, 300 orders of sneakers get an offer of insoles for €12. 45 shoppers take them, which is €540 of extra revenue.
How to calculate it / how it works
Formula: extra revenue = number of shoppers who agree × price of the add-on. Take rate = shoppers who agree ÷ impressions.
For example, 300 orders of sneakers get an offer of insoles for €12. Step 1: 45 shoppers take them, so the take rate is 15%. Step 2: 45 × €12 = €540 of extra revenue. Step 3: if sneaker revenue was €21,000 (300 × €70), AOV grew from €70 to €71.80.
Where it shows up in ThanklyClub and common mistakes
Cross-sell sells your products before or during the order, while the ThanklyClub gift block appears after payment. They do not get in each other's way because they work at different moments.
- Offering an incompatible product, for example a case for the wrong model.
- Showing too many add-ons at once. It gets hard to choose.
- Offering an accessory that costs more than the main product.
- Forgetting about stock: the shopper takes an add-on that is not in the warehouse.
