EPC — Earnings Per Click

EPC is average income per click: everything earned on an offer divided by the number of clicks on it.

In a CPA model, clicks are not paid, but they are easy to evaluate after the fact. EPC shows how much each visit brought in on average. It is the main way to compare offers with different payouts and conversion rates.

ThanklyClub uses EPC history when choosing gifts: offers that earn more per click are more likely to appear in the block if they fit the category.

Example

For example, an offer got 200 clicks, and 8 of them became customers at €12 each. Income is €96, so EPC = 96 / 200 = €0.48 per click.

How to calculate it / how it works

Formula: EPC = income ÷ number of clicks. CR × payout gives the same result.

For example, an offer got 200 clicks. Step 1: 8 of them became customers. Step 2: the payout is €12 per customer, so income is 8 × €12 = €96. Step 3: EPC = 96 / 200 = €0.48 per click. Check: CR = 8 / 200 = 4%, and 4% × €12 = €0.48.

Where it shows up in ThanklyClub and common mistakes

For a store, EPC is a quick way to see which gift is worth keeping on. An offer with a lower payout but a high conversion rate often earns more per click than a generous but poorly matched one. Compare over the same period and in the same placement.

  • Calculating EPC from a small number of clicks. With 20 clicks, one conversion changes the number a lot.
  • Comparing the EPC of the thank-you page and the email, although the moment and the audience are different.
  • Not saying which amount is meant: the partner's full payout or the store's share (60%).
  • Adding confirmed and pending conversions together. Pending ones can still be rejected.

FAQ

How is EPC different from CPC?

CPC is the price of a click that an advertiser pays. EPC is how much a click earned a publisher on average. In ThanklyClub, clicks are not paid, so EPC is the number to watch.

How do I raise EPC?

Match the offer more closely to the store category (CTR and CR go up), pick the placement where conversion is higher, and work with more generous offers.

Should pending conversions be counted in EPC?

It is better to count them separately: confirmed ones are money, pending ones are a forecast.
