Pet supplies as a gift with the order
Pet food is bought on repeat, so a first-order or subscription discount appeals to every pet owner. In pet stores the category is hidden.

What it means for the customer
The shopper gets a promo code for a first order of food, treats, litter or accessories for dogs and cats.
When it's hidden. It is a direct competitor to pet stores. It overlaps with home goods stores if they sell pet beds and accessories.

What the shopper sees
A card from a pet food, treat or accessory store appears in the gift block, for example "30% off the first delivery" for a food subscription. The shopper taps it on the thank-you page or in the order confirmation email and lands on the partner's site.
The promo code is applied at checkout. A shopper without a pet will just skip the card, and the block still shows other offers from other categories.
Why pet supplies work after a purchase
Food and litter are bought regularly, so a discount on the first delivery or subscription is interesting to pet owners. Having tried a store once, people often stay for a long time, and partners know it.
We don't use personal data, and the gift doesn't know whether the shopper has a pet. So the category works better where many shoppers have pets: in home goods, kids', clothing and sports stores (walks with the dog). In pet stores AI hides the category.
What partners offer and how your store earns
The partner pays for a new customer, meaning a first confirmed order or a subscription start. The check takes 14–30 days, then 60% of the payout is credited to your store, and withdrawals go out by SEPA from €50.
Typical formats:
- a discount on the first food subscription delivery
- a fixed euro discount on the first treat order
- free shipping for new customers
- a trial pack of food or treats
- a discount on dog accessories: harnesses, leashes, beds
Questions
How does a pet gift reach a pet owner?
Personal data is not used, so any shopper sees the gift. Conversions happen where many people have pets, for example in home goods stores.
What do pet stores see instead?
Non-competing categories: photo printing, charity, cleaning services, and pet insurance when enabled manually.
What about conversion if many shoppers have no pets?
Conversion is lower than for universal categories, so the slot is usually shared with others. Check the offer stats in the dashboard: if clicks are weak, you can switch the category off.
Does it suit a kids' products store?
Yes. Families with children often have pets, and pet products don't compete with a kids' range.
Does it overlap with the Insurance category?
No, these are separate categories. Pet insurance belongs to the sensitive Insurance category and is enabled manually, while this one covers goods only: food, treats, accessories.
